Seeing the sights in Ahmedabad

With a good lunch in us, we were off for a quick sightseeing tour. First up was the Akshardham temple complex on the edge of Ahmedabad. Unfortunately, we found it was closed when we got there. Bummer - it was supposed to be a pretty neat temple.

From there, we traveled to the Ghandi Ashram, a museum at the site of one the homes Gandhi lived and worked in. The museum was full of pictures and memorabilia of Gandhi's life, his work and his message of peace. It was an uplifting experience, to say the least.

Our driver took us past many ornate buildings belonging to the local government and the high court as we made our way to the airport. Later, I learned that quite a few of them dated back to British colonial times when they were originally constructed. After a short, uneventful flight, we were now in Delhi!
